96 - Time had caught up with Destiny

The Word of God is destined to be fulfilled.

Luke turned on the light of a certain day 2000 years ago. He wrote the story of what happened in the Jewish temple, in front of the veil and on the right side of the altar of incense. It was out of the view of the people. One man, Zacharias the priest, stood offering incense. Out of the invisible came a visible angel, Gabriel, who interrupted the normal visible world. Time had caught up with destiny.

A 4000 year prophecy

The 4000 year history of wars, floods, victory and defeat, life and death, captivity and freedom, prophesy and silence, ended in a moment of time. A voice in the Hebrew tongue, a language God invented for His special people, is heard by a praying Priest. The Angel Gabriel said, "thy prayer is heard." With that announcement Zacharias was destined to be a father in his old age. John the Baptist would be born.

Gabriel's announcement preceded by six months another announcement he would make of a birth that would divide history into two parts, the Old and the New. In 15 months the line between BC and AD would be drawn. Jesus was born and since then a period of time has been known as Before Christ, BC.

Two preachers were born that the world may know the change had come. The first was a transitional preacher. He was John the Baptist. John was killed six months after he started preaching. The other preacher was Jesus. John the Baptist and Jesus were born six months apart. Jesus preached three and one half years and was crucified.

The world was in turmoil. The Jews were under the rule of the Romans. God had chosen this period of time to make His personal visit into the world of His creation. He came into the world as a child born in Bethlehem. He went through the whole process of being born in a manger, growing up in a Jewish home, speaking with the Galilean accent, learning the carpenter's trade from His supposedly father, Joseph, who was a carpenter. God as a man worked with the wood of the tree He created. Then one day He laid down His hammer and saw, took off His apron and went out to save the world.

His date with destiny had arrived. The whole world would hear His Gospel. The Gentiles would be the biggest winner number wise. The Day of Pentecost would be the birth of His Church that the gates of hell could not prevail against. Two thousand years have passed since then. We are living in the "now time" of His church. The Apostolic Cutting Edge is still pressing forward in time looking for sinners to repent, get baptized in Jesus Name for the remission of sins and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. The end is not yet but is near.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Time has caught up with you. You are the one to show Christ to the world. Let your light so shine.
